Supplies:
Paintshop Pro (I use V9)
3 to 4 Images of choice, mine are by Dark Yarrow and used with a DSI license
Textures, mine are by VixPSP and the pack is called Texture Set 2. I can't find no 1.
Font(s) of choice, mine are Bank Gothic Light and Kolker Brush
Filters penta.com/Color dot, BirgitsChaos/Tapestry, AAA Frames/FotoFrame
Stuff For blends you can also use brushes well, there is an example down there. Bling animations also look good on some.
A Quote that you can credit, most blends are quite expressive and work well with a quote.
You can also find textures on deviantart or even on sxc.hu, they usually have colour and structure and can give your images a whole different feel and mood.
Play around with the different ones you find and with the blend modes PSP provides. Make sure you read the TOU's of the people that offer the textures.
Some require credits or link backs, I don't use those.
OK, let's start. I made a forum set, open a transparent canvas 600x250. Paste your images, I used 3, onto your canvas.
Arrange them next to each other, I had to resize mine, also it's nice when the faces are all around the same size.
They are overlapping with straight edges right now. Take your Selection tool and select the entire inside edge of your left
image, which should be the uppermost in your layer palette. Go to Selections/Modify/Feather, set the value to between 25-38.
Hit delete on your keyboard, until you have a nice cloudy feathery overlay over the image below. Deselect.
Now make the right image active, take it to the top and select the entire inside edge like you did with the left image.
Repeat the steps you did before. Should you now see the straight edges of the middle image you can try feathering it slightly too.
or maybe it is possible to move the outer images back towards the middle a little.
But you need to make sure you don't have too much transparency showing. I did not fill a layer behind with anything cos I wanted to just see the art.
Once happy with your arrangement merge visible.
Paste a texture as a new layer on top. Change the blend mode in the layer palette, I don't remember which I used, I made this
set a few days ago and only wrote down the filters lol. Apply penta.com/ color dot. Merge visible.
Take your selection tool and select a wide-ish bar across the length of your tag.
Paste another texture as a new layer, invert the selection and hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect.
Apply Birgits Chaos/ Tapestry and change the blend mode to one of your choice.
Merge visible and apply Effects/Illumination Effects/Lights with these settings.
Crop merged, apply the Fotoframe filter and add your quote. Also add your credits legibly.
For the avatar make a copy of the tag, with the crop tool make a 150x150 square and move that around until you see a section you fancy. Crop.
Merge and apply the Fotoframe. Add your credits. Also add your intial to the av and your name to the tag. I saved as a jpg. Done ;o)
Here I used Penta.com/Jeans on the first texture and soft light blend mode. On the second texture I used no filter, but blended Color(L).
Merge and add a new layer, I added brushes in grey, put another texture over that and blendmode set to color.
Merge all layers, AAA Frames/Transparent frame, width 5. Font is Honey I stole your jumper. Art is also by Dark Yarrow. Save as a png.
The first texture layer I set to screen and lowered the opacity to 62. Then I applied Tramages/Panel Stripes at default. Merge. Take your Selection Tool, I chose star 1 and draw out two stars of different sizes.
Add another texture as a new layer, invert the selection and hit delete. Deselect. To this layer I applied the Filter Crescent Moon/Quilt, also at default. And then I changed the blend mode to
Saturation (L). Apply AAA Frames/Texture Frame at size 6. Then I added the word Electrogeisha (that's what the photoshoot was called) with Impact and set the blend mode
on that to soft light. Add a dropshadow. My name I added with Miss Lankfort and also applied a dropshadow. Art is by Akif Hakan Celebi, he is a general permission artist and you can also find him on DA. Save as a jpg.
