Supplies:
Paintshop Pro (I use V9)
Tube of choice, mine is by Joe Peck and used with a CDO license
A Scrap Kit, mine is a DigitalCrea collab by Fanette and Thaliris and it's a limited time freebie called New Year at DC Part 02.
Font(s) of choice, mine is Yankee Ghosts BB and mono07_55 for the credits.
Filters Eyecandy Gradient Glow, AAA Frames, Xenofex2
Mask ForumSetMask20_Squares_LF, it's the bottom one.
The dimensions in this tutorial are chosen to make a cover tag and matching avatar for the Timeline Layout on Facebook.
Open a new canvas 851x315, floodfill white. Open the kit in windows. Drag one of the papers into psp, resize it and paste as a new layer onto your canvas. Apply the mask, merge group. Give it a dropshadow.
Paste your tube as a new layer and resize it, so it fits nicely, move it to the right. Paste your tube again and move it to the left, leave it slightly bigger. Mirror it, if you wish. Apply the same mask to this tube layer. Merge group.
Now add all the elements from the kit that you like. Don't forget those dropshadows. Merge visible when happy. Apply AAA Frames, Transparent Frame at 3 and 120. Add your credits and give them a gradient glow.
Now add your message in a matching colour, give your text an Inner Bevel.

Add noise to your text, Gaussian, 100%, monochrome. Add a dropshadow on a new layer. I used: -4,4,61,4.
Make the shadow layer active. Go to Xenofex2/Constellation. Set to 3::50::65::0::100::38 and make the selection transparent.
Dropshadow on the same layer -3,3,61,7, repeat.
Now add your name, I just gave mine a dropshadow. To make the avatar, duplicate your tag with shift +D. Even though the avatar will only show at 125x125, Facebook has a minimum width of 180px. So with your crop tool active, type in 180x180 pixels and move this square until you have a portion you wish to use. Crop. Merge visible. Apply the same frame, add credits and your name. For the examples here I saved as png, because they are clearer than Jpg. But you can save as jpg for Facebook, as it squishes the tag anyway.
For the Christmas one I used art by CuddlyRigorMortis, who is also signed with CDO. The kit is ManuDesigns part of the SBG ChristmasBlogtrain. Instead of a white background I used a green that matched and added a texture.
