Supplies:
Paintshop Pro (I use V9)
A regular sized Kit for Scrapbook Layouts
Not only are those kits too big to make a regular tag with, but they also take up massive amounts of space on our harddrives. Most of the papers at saved at 300.000dpi, making them weigh big megabytes rather than little kilobytes. Here I'll show you how I resize what I snagged
(100's of the buggers lol ).
Okay, open the kit in your psp browser, all elements need to be resized to different sizes.
Papers, Quickpages, Templates and ribbons:
are usually 3600x3600px (ribbons are often that width) , go to Image/resize,
click in Resolution it will be 300.000 pixels per inch, type in 72.000.
Width and Height will be 24 Percent. Resize all layers and Lock aspect ratio must be checked.
I resize bicubic, some people prefer smart size. Save. It will now be 864x864 at 72.000dpi.
If you want to keep it the same pixels, you need to type in 100 in the percent box.
Image/Resize, Set width to 70%, height should be also at 70 now. Save.
The paper is now 605x605 pixels. Save it.
If your paper was smaller to begin with resize it down to it being about 600x600 px also.
Elements & Alphas:
If the elements or letter has lots of transparency around it, crop it first, click on snap crop rectangle to layer opaque.
go to Image/resize, click in Resolution it will be 300.000 pixels or 118.000 per inch, type in 72.000.
Set Width and Height to 61 Percent. Resize all layers and Lock aspect ratio must be checked.
Save. Small enough now? If not -->
Image resize, leave all as it is and save again. Look at it, does it still look nice?
Then save it, if not undo once and try a higher percentage. Save when you're happy.
To save time, when you have snagged lots and wanna get it over with a bit quicker, save those steps in your script recorder.
On your script toolbar, click on the lil circle to start recording, do all the steps, and save script recording,
name it and save it to MyPspFiles/ Scripts Restricted.
I have 3 scripts saved, one called resize 3600 for the papers, one that does crop and then resize 61% as above once
and one crop and resize 61% twice.
Then you just select and run the script, make sure it runs silent, otherwise you have to press okay
for every step, to run it silent you need to click on the one that says toggle something.
Even quicker if you have a folder of just papers, you can do a batch conversion, go to file/ batch conversion, select the folder with all the papers, select all, select the script and overwrite. Make sure the papers are indeed 3600x3600 because you can't undo a batch conversion.
Finally, do not share the kits, do follow the tou and credit the creator ;o) Any questions, just ask ;o)
