Supplies:
Paintshop Pro (I use V9)
Animation Shop
Tube of choice, mine is by Hannah Lynn and used with a CDO license
Font(s) of choice, mine are Kristen ITC and CK Curly Muras Meister Copies, Xero Fritillary, Filters Unlimited 2.0 & EyeCandy 4000 Gradient Glow
Mask Mask112 by Vix
Open a new canvas, 600x250 and your tube. Paste the tube as a new layer, apply Muras Meister Copies Wallpaper Rotate.
Blur/Motion Blur at 90 degrees, strength 100%. Effects/Distortion Effects/Pixelate set to 25 on both. Then apply Xero/Fritillary with these settings: 7,216,8,0.
Add a new layer, select a rectangle with the selection tool, floodfill with a light colour from your tube. Apply Filters Unlimited/Paper Textures/ Japanese Paper.
Change the blend mode to Screen. Paste the tube behind the strip. Add a dropshadow.
Make a duplicate of your background layer, apply the mask to this layer, merge group. Mirror this layer, apply dropshadow twice, so it 'floats'
above the background.
Now find a quote to go with your tag and add it onto the strip. Add all credits legibly. Also add your name. I added a gradient glow, click on the colour tab, choose
Fat and a light colour from the tag in the left colour option. Change the tab to Basic, change Glow width to 5. Add a dropshadow.
Add a new layer on top, Selections/Select All, Modify/Select Selection Border. Inside, 2 ad antialias checked. Floodfill. I saved mine as a png, I find the colour stay clearer.
For the avatar make a copy of the tag, crop out a 150x150 square, merge visible and delete all the layers you don't need. Frame it the same way as the tag. Add all necessary credits to both legibly.
Add your name or initial, save the avatar as png.
My second example uses the art of Karen Middleton, who is also signed with CDO. This is the June 2011 Bonus for Diamond Club members.
The blend mode for the strip is set to hard light. Mask is MC_Mask16. Fonts is Wiesbaden Swing-Roman.
