Supplies:
Paintshop Pro (I use V9)
Animation Shop
Tube of choice, mine is by Jennifer Janesko and used with a CDO license
Font(s) of choice, mine is Jellyka Estryas Hand
Filters Muras Meister Copies, Eyecandy 4000, I-Decay, Filter Factory J or VM Transmission
You should have some knowledge of working with layers for this.
Open a new canvas, 600x250 and paste your tube as a new layer. Apply Muras Meister copies with the setting Feedback (h-random). Now duplicate this layer and flip it, lower
the opacity a little until you see a pattern of sorts. ;o) Merge those two layers. Now go to Adjust/ Blur/ Motion Blur and set to 100% and an angle of 45°. If you still see the background of your blank, floodfill the bottom layer with a colour that
matches and merge visible.
Duplicate this layer twice and hide the top two, make the bottom one active and apply Eyecandy 4000/Jiggle with these settings. Make the middle layer active, apply the same filter but hit the random button
on it once. Do the same for the 3rd layer.
Now paste your tube, move it to the left, duplicate and mirror it. Give the one on the left a dropshadow.
Change the blend mode on the right tube to Soft Light, or whichever suits yours best. Crop merged opaque. Then apply the filter Filter Factory J/ Broken Mirror to that layer. Some have Broken Mirror in VM Distortion.
Add a new raster layer, and go to Selections/Select All. Selections/Modify/Select Selection Borders. Set to Both sides, 5 and anti-alias checked.
Floodfill with a colour of choice. Select None. To this frame I applied I-Decay/Jitter Zoom. Add all credits legibly. Add your name.
Hide the top two layers of background, right click and copy merged. Open Animation Shop and paste as a New Animation.
Go back to psp, hide the bottom layer of the background and unhide the middle one. Copy merged via right-click and in AS,
right click onto your first frame and paste behind current frame.
Repeat this for the final background layer.
Watch your animation, I left my at 10. Save as gif when you're happy.
To make the avatar. Make a copy of your tag by selecting shift+D on your keyboard. Take the crop tool and write 150 in both the width and height boxes, make sure the 3rd box says pixels.
With your cursor you can now move this square about until you make a choice which part of your tag you like for your avatar, hit the check mark in the toolbar.
Delete all the layers with bits that shouldn't be there, like partial names or credits. Make a frame the same as you did for the larger tag. Add credits, only ©name and license number, if applicable, are necessary.
Add your name or initial and save as png or jpg.
My second example uses the work of Anna Marine, who is also licensed through CDO. The font is Machia.
My third example uses the work of Scarlet Gothica, who is licensed through DSI. The font is Alma.
